About the Business

Varun Sardana, a distinguished alumnus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, completed his degree in 2003. His illustrious career includes serving as the head designer for renowned Indian designer Varun Bahl. In 2004, he achieved recognition by winning the esteemed Bijenkorf Fashion Design Award in Amsterdam. This marked a pivotal moment in his journey, leading to the establishment of his eponymous label in 2007.

Varun’s remarkable talent and creativity have earned him widespread acclaim, not only from the press and critics but also from prestigious industry organizations. Notably, his debut collection at India Fashion Week, Spring/Summer ’08, was awarded the title of The Best Debut Collection by the Fashion Design Council of India. Hindustan Times further recognized him as the Best New Designer for the year 2007-08.

His work has been prominently featured in prominent fashion magazines such as WWD (Japan), Ginza (Japan), Marie Claire (France and Czechoslovakia), Grazia, Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar (Indian editions). In a remarkable achievement, Varun Sardana became the youngest designer to be signed by the prestigious French showroom, MC2 Diffusion, known for representing renowned labels like Manish Arora, Sharon Wachob, and Peachoo+Krejberg. Concurrently, he received an invitation to showcase his creations at the esteemed Tranoi fair in Paris.

Over the past five seasons, Varun has consistently presented his collections through the MC2 Diffusion Showroom in Paris during Paris Fashion Week, solidifying his international presence. His brand has made its mark in more than 30 established niche stores across the globe.

Varun’s impressive list of accolades includes receiving the ELLE STYLE AWARD from ELLE (India) in both 2008 and 2009. TIMEOUT (Delhi) recognized him as one of the YOUNG CREATIVE ACHIEVERS IN INDIA, featuring him in their prestigious 25 UNDER 30 list in 2009. Vogue (India) acknowledged his Spring/Summer ’10 collection as one of the top 10 collections of the season.

HINDUSTAN TIMES honored Varun with the title of THE NEXT BIG THING in the designer category, consecutively for 2008 and 2010. Furthermore, he was invited by THE BRITISH COUNCIL to participate in THE ALCHEMY FESTIVAL held at THE SOUTH BANK CENTRE in London in April 2010. Following his impressive show at the festival, he secured representation from Blow PR, one of the United Kingdom’s leading fashion PR companies, to handle his international press. Varun Sardana’s journey is a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to the world of fashion.
