Samathwa Human Development Centre (SHDC) is a non-profit organization based in Thrissur, Kerala, India, recognized as the country’s leading educational provider. We take immense pride in directly impacting the lives of over 500 youth, women, and their families through a wide array of projects encompassing education, healthcare, livelihood, and women’s empowerment. Our footprint extends across 30 locations within the vibrant state of Kerala, India.
At the heart of our mission lies the belief that education serves both as the means and the end to a better life. It empowers individuals to secure their livelihoods while simultaneously enhancing their awareness on a multitude of issues, spanning from healthcare to social conduct and the understanding of one’s rights. This holistic approach cultivates better citizens and acts as a catalyst for profound social transformation.
Samathwa, an NGO in India, recognizes that child education cannot be achieved in isolation. A child’s journey to school is paved when the family, especially the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowerment. Furthermore, when an elder sibling possesses relevant employable skills and begins contributing to the household income, the cycle of empowerment transcends generations.

Presently, millions of Indian children are deprived of education, grappling with poverty, illness, and despair.
