About CLAT:
Currently, there are 19 national law universities across India. Eighteen of these conduct a joint exam for admission known as the Common Law Aptitude Test (CLAT), while NLU Delhi conducts its separate exam. Private universities like Symbiosis, Jindal, and Amity have their own entrance exams. The number of students taking these entrance exams has seen exponential growth. CLAT alone has witnessed a 250% increase in the past four years, with nearly 39% growth in the last year. In 2012, approximately forty thousand students are expected to compete for roughly 1200 available seats, making it a highly competitive exam and an incredibly inviting market to enter.
