My Apple School embarked on its educational journey in 2007, beginning with Playgroup and Nursery classes. Over nine years, we diligently researched and developed a unique concept-driven approach to learning, which we call the ‘3-Steps’ methodology.
Step 1 – Concrete Activity: Unlike traditional chalk-and-talk teaching methods, we kickstart learning with concrete activities such as games, projects, interactive sessions, and brainstorming. For instance, in Playgroup, we introduce children to the concept of fruits by hiding fruit toys in sand pits and play areas. This approach allows children to explore different fruits while having fun.
Step 2 – Worksheets: Our students engage in various worksheets related to fruits, which involve art and craft activities. These activities enhance their gross and fine motor skills, as well as cognitive and intellectual development.
Step 3 – Field Trips: At ‘My Apple,’ we firmly believe that children truly understand concepts when they experience them firsthand. Our curriculum includes numerous hands-on activities like field trips, role-playing, concept games, and more.
Due to the resounding success of our 3-Step Process at the kindergarten level, we are now expanding this concept to primary and high school levels, starting from June 2011.
At this juncture, we also aspire to share this unique learning approach with children beyond Vadodara.
