Unlocking Financial Access with AADHAAR Enabled Payment System (AEPS)
The AADHAAR Enabled Payment System, or AEPS, is a groundbreaking solution that offers essential financial services at a minimal cost, leveraging user-friendly devices known as MicroATMs, conveniently hosted by Business Correspondents. AEPS operates seamlessly, making it a vital link in the world of modern banking.
Key AEPS Banking Transactions Include:
1. Cash Withdrawal
2. Cash Deposit
3. AADHAAR to AADHAAR Funds Transfer (DMT)
4. Balance Enquiry
AEPS strives to empower bank customers, enabling them to access their AADHAAR-linked bank accounts for a variety of essential banking transactions, whether they are intra-bank or interbank, all managed by dedicated Business Correspondents. Additionally, AEPS contributes to the Reserve Bank of India’s broader mission of modernizing retail payments.
Furthermore, AEPS promotes interoperability across different banks in a secure and efficient manner. It facilitates online financial inclusion transactions at Points of Sale (PoS) via MicroATMs through any bank’s Business Correspondent, using AADHAAR authentication as the cornerstone.
To execute a transaction under this innovative system, key information is needed by the AirCash – Point of Presence (PoP) or Banking Correspondent (BC). This includes the bank’s IIN (Identifying the Bank to which the customer is associated), the AADHAAR Number, and the customer’s fingerprint, captured during enrollment.
