The Institute of Vedic Mathematics (IVM) has been tirelessly working on integrating Vedic mathematics principles with competitive exam math to equip students with powerful problem-solving techniques.
The Potential: Take, for instance, the Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS), which conducts the Common Written Examination for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Clerks for 19 public sector banks across India. These examinations attract a massive number of participants, with approximately 14.5 lakh students appearing for the first PO exam held on September 18, 2011, and a staggering 50 lakh students appearing for the Clerk exam on November 27 and December 4, 2011. IBPS plans to continue conducting these CWEs for PO and Clerk positions until 2016, with an expected schedule of 2 PO-CWEs and 3 or 4 CWEs for Clerks annually.
Historically, prior to 1969, all 14 banks were private institutions. On November 19, 1969, these banks transitioned into national banks, and between 1969 and 1975, they conducted extensive recruitment drives to expand their workforce.
